Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 11, 1939

 James A. Simmons, 61, a life long resident of Norfolk, died yesterday morning at 
a local hospital after an illness of some months. He made his home at 826 
Granville Avenue. 
Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Mrs. Georgie Simmons, one nephew, W.H. 
Simmons, Jr., of Norfolk and a niece, Mrs. W.G. Thomas, of Tucson, Ariz.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Gregory 
Funeral Home 3401 Granby Street. Last rites will be conducted by Norfolk Aerie No. 
163 B.P.O.E. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
