Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark November 9, 1915

Mrs. Henrietta Rhea Stephens Simmons, wife of Walter J. Simmons, died suddenly 
yesterday morning at 6 o'clock at her home, 1207 Colonial Avenue. She has been 
in failing health for some time. She was a native of Norfolk, was 60 years old 
and was well known and highly regarded in this city. She was a member of the 
Cumberland Street Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, two 
brothers, G.A. and J.E. Stephens, and two sisters, Mrs. A.B. Stephens of Norfolk 
and Mrs. W.J. Vellines of Atlanta, Ga. 
The funeral will take place privately at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning at the 
residence. Rev. J.A. Thomas, pastor of the Cumberland Street Methodist Church, 
will conduct the services. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
