Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 9, 1947

Mrs. Virginia Capitola Harrell Simmons, wife of James W. Simmons and daughter of 
the late William Joseph and Mrs. Annie Lee Wiggins Harrell, a native of Gates 
County, N.C., and a resident of Norfolk for 30 years died Tuesday at 10 p.m. at 
the residence, C-4 Hamilton Court Apartments, 1202 Redgate Avenue.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Adelaide M. Thomas, of 
Norfolk; a brother, James A. Harrell of Wallace, N.C., and several nieces and 
nephews.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Friday at 10 
a.m., by the Rev. P. Rowland Wagner, pastor of Central Baptist Church. Interment 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
