Simmons died last evening at 9 o'clock at the home of his son, G.A. Simmons, 107 Liberty street, after an illness of two years, in the 76th year of his age. The deceased was born in Culvert County, Md. and resided in Baltimore until about six years ago when he moved to Berkley with his wife, who was a Miss Sarah Freeman of England, and who died about two years ago. He was a sail maker by trade. He was a member of Friendship Lodge No. 7, I.O.O.F., Eurake Lodge No. 11, K. of P., Court Carrollton Lodge American Order of Fosters and the Sail Makers' Union, all of Baltimore, Md., and a consistent member of Memorial M.E. Church this place. The funeral will be conducted from the residence, Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. The various orders of which he was a member will attend in a body.
