Norfolk - Calvin Simmons of  718 Sycamore street died recently in a hospital.

A native of Pollocksville, NC, he was a son of Augustus and Mrs. Hagar Simmons 
and the husband of the late Mrs. Bertha Simmons.

He was a 40-year retired employee of Virginia Electric and Power Co.

He is survived by three brothers, Jacob Simmons of Kinston, NC, and Ernest 
Simmons and Theodore Simmons;  three sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Jorman of Trenton, 
NC, Mrs. Matilda Murrell of Dover, NC, and Mrs. Catherine Jorman of Kinston.

The body was taken to Graves Funeral Home.
