Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, October 30, 1998 
Robert ``Jack'' Simmons Jr., 85, of the 2100 block of Ruth St., died Oct. 27, 1998.

He was a native of Norfolk and the son of the late Robert and Hattie Simmons. He
was a retired merchant seaman and barber.

He is survived by sons, Robert G. Simmons III of Norfolk, Arthur R. Simmons of
Chesapeake and Jeff Burnside of New Jersey; a daughter, Anna K. Simmons of
Chesapeake; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in New Calvary Baptist Church,
Norfolk, by G.G. Campbell. The family will receive friends at Hale Funeral Home
from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
