Simms, a former resident of Portsmouth, died at 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning in her residence, 610 West Olney Road, aged 86 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. G.J. Ellis and Mrs. R.D. Eckles, both of Norfolk; one son, Lieut. Joseph F. Simms, U.S.N.; five grandchildren, John Beverly Allen, Joseph Allen, Mrs. Eunice Padley, wife of Lieut. Harry E. Padley, of Manila, P.I.; George Dyson Simms, of Washington, D.C. and Miss Teresa Simms, of Norfolk and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Simms was widely known in the two cities and was held in high esteem. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the residence. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted. *********************************************************************** Mrs. Johanna Simms, widow of John F.
