John Simms, who died Saturday night in the residence of his daughter, Mrs. G. S. 
Ellis, 20 Racine avenue, Lafayette Residence Park, was buried yesterday in St. 
Mary’s Cemetery, Norfolk. Funeral services were conducted in St. Mary's Catholic 
Church at 10 o’clock. Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Taylor. Rev. 
Hugh J. McFadden, assistant pastor of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, in this city, 
assisted at the grave, Mr. Simms having formerly worshipped at the local church.
The pallbearers were as follows: J. C. Bain, John T. Riley, William J. Bidgood, G. 
G. Williams, M. J. Casey and John T. Galilee.
