Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, February 5, 1992 
Nona Simons of the 500 block of Ruffner St., died Feb. 3, 1992, in a hospital.

Mrs. Simons was born in Long Island, Va. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist
Church and was the widow of Joseph Simons Sr.

Survivors include four sons, Joseph H. Simons Jr. of Portsmouth, William A.
Simons of Pensacola, Fla., David T. Simons of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and James A.
Simons of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Maggie Lewis of Portsmouth and Nannie
Mae Jones of Norfolk; three brothers, Grant Pannell of New York City, and Mose
Pannell and Dock Pannell, both of Long Island; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Shiloh Baptist Church by
the Rev. John Foster. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the
family from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Graves Funeral Home, and other times at the
residence. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Friday.
