Norfolk Virginian Pilot Saturday June 19, 1948
Mrs. Lena Blount Simpson, 68, died at her residence, 1237 Bay View 
Boulevard, yesterday at 5:15 p.m. after a long illness.  She was a native of 
Norfolk, daughter of the late George Washington and Mrs. Fannie Ward Blount.
She was a member of the Church of the Advent, Episcopal.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by her husband, Herbert R. Simpson; two daughters, 
Mrs. Christine Bowling and Miss Gertrude Simpson; one sister, Mrs. George 
Sivills; one brother, William Blount; three grandchildren, and one great 
grandchild, all of Norfolk.  
Funeral services will be conducted at the James V. Derry Funeral Chapel 
tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
