Miss Lena Simpson of 1374 O’Keefe street, Norfolk, died at a Norfolk hospital on 
Thursday, Feb. 19.  She had been sick for a week, and died a few hours after 
entering the hospital.

A native of Waverly, VA, Miss Simpson had been a resident of Norfolk since 1933.  
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute street.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 o’clock at the chapel of Hale Funeral 
Home.

Miss Simpson is survived by three brothers, Roosevelt Simpson, Gloucester County 
VA;  Hughe Jones, Philadelphia, and Percy Dennis, Waverly VA;  two sisters, Mrs. 
Ida Washington, Chicago, and Mrs. Laura Lewis, Burlington IA, and other 
relatives.

Interment in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge of funeral 
arrangements.
