One of them was Miss Nora Simpson, 32, a native of Berkley. Escaping gas from a stove in the house was assigned as the cause of death. It is believed that the stove was lit Monday night and that the flame in some manner had been extinguished, maybe from being blown out accidentally. The coroner stated he had been told the Simpson woman, a former beauty parlor operator, had lived at the house only since last Monday. Information developed regarding her was to the effect that while she was born in Berkley, she had ben living for some time in New York where she was employed. She was reported to have returned to this section only recently, coming here on crutches, having received injuries to her ankles which necessitated the use of them. She is survived by four half sisters, Mrs. J.E. Jackson, of Miami, Fla.; Mrs. Dinsy Perkins, of Gloucester Point; Mrs. Long, of Norfolk and Miss Dixie Perry, of New York; a brother, Thomas Simpson, of Norfolk and two half-brothers Jack and Roy Perry of New York. The bodies were taken to the Richardson & Foster Funeral Hone to be prepared for burial. Funeral arrangements were incomplete last night. ************************************************************************ Miss Nora Simpson, 32, who was found dead Wednesday of asphyxiation, will be buried this morning in St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk.
