Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 15, 1942

Thomas S. Simpson, aged 82, died at his residence, 622 May Avenue, yesterday 
morning at 5 o'clock after an illness of three weeks. He was a native of Currituck 
County, N.C. and had been a resident of Norfolk for 25 years. Surviving him are a 
son, Thomas B. Simpson, of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Wilson, of Norfolk 
and Mrs. Nora Blackman, of Portsmouth and seven grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the funeral 
chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 Colley Avenue. Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery.
