The Virginian-Pilot, Wednesday, December 20, 1961

NORFOLK - Mrs. Acquilla K. Simpson of 732 Clay Ave. died in a Norfolk hospital 
Monday.

She was a native of Hertford, N.C., widow of Hames Richard Simpson. She lived in 
Norfolk most of her life and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth E. Lassiter of Norfolk; a son, George 
Lee Simpson of Philadelphia; three sisters, Mrs. Huldah Goff, Mrs. Sallie Bobson 
and Mrs. Laura Carline, and two brothers, William Knox, Henry Knox, all of 
Brooklyn; a granddaughter and a great-granddaugther.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted in 
Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Thursday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. F.P. Wise, pastor. 
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
