Mrs. Grace Ellen Simpson, wife of Thomas S. Simpson, died yesterday afternoon at 
1:30 o'clock at a local hospital. A native of North Carolina, she had been a 
resident of Norfolk for the past 20 years, living at 726 St. Helena street, 
Berkley Ward. Besides her husband, she is survived by six daughters, Mrs. J. D. 
Wicker, Mrs. A. J. Perkins, Mrs. R. C. Lathrop and Miss Nora E. Simpson, all of 
Norfolk; Mrs. J. L. Robinson, of Philadelphia, and Sister Mary Josephine, of the 
Sisters of Charity, New York; three sons, R. L. Perry, of New York; J. E. Perry, 
of Detroit, and J. C. Perry, of Oriental, N. C.; two brothers, Noah Burgess of 
Norfolk, and Edward Burgess, of Waterlily, N. C. and a half-brother, Joshua Perry, 
of Norfolk.

Funeral services will be held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church Tuesday morning at 
10 o’clock. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
