Norfolk - Mrs. Laura White Simpson, 76, of 1514 St. Julian Ave. died Friday at
3:30 a.m. in her home after a long illness.

A native of South Mills, NC, she was a daughter of Lewis and Mrs. Margaret Smith
and the wife of James Simpson.

She lived in Norfolk 55 years and was church mother of St. Mark’s Community Church.

Surviving are two sons, Elder Henry White and Clinton White of Norfolk;  two
daughters, Mrs. Mary Watts of Norfolk and Mrs. Laura Jackson of Washington;  two
sisters, Mrs. Elba Cuffee of Hickory and Mrs. Mary Johnson of Princess Anne
County;  and two brothers, Marshall Smith of Norfolk and Solomon Smith of
Princess Anne County.

The body was taken to Riddick Funeral Service.  A funeral service will be held
in Mother Church of God in Christ, Goff Street, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with burial
in Calvary Cemetery.
