 The obsequies of Mrs. Archania Simpson, wife of Mr. Joseph Simpson, who was 
burned to death by the explosion of a gasolene stove at her home, No. 291 
Charlotte street, Friday morning, was held from the residence at 10 a.m. 
yesterday. Rev. Dr. H.E. Johnson, pastor of Cumberland Street M.E. Church, 
conducted the services. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. 
Following were the pall-bearers: Messrs. J.W. Fentress, R.W. Carter, C.W. 
Wilson, W.H. Brown, J.W. Beasley and A. O'Brien.
