Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark March 7, 1934

Mrs. Mamie Eason Simpson, aged 72, wife of William J. Simpson, died at a local 
hospital yesterday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock after a short illness. Besides her 
husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. C.E. Reynolds, of Norfolk; a son, 
William J. Simpson, Jr., of San Francisco, Ca.; a sister, Mrs. Robert J. 
Winslow, of Kings Tree, S.C. and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Simpson was a native 
of Gates County, N.C. and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 60 years. 
She was a member of the Christian Temple and resided at 247 East Thirty-ninth 
Street, Riverview.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
