Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, July 24, 2000 
Austin Edmond Simpson I, of the 1600 block of Skyline Drive, died July 17, 2000
in West Babylon, N.Y.

He was born in Queens, N.Y., and was general manager of an automobile dealership
for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Washington Simpson; daughter, Thalia Lynn
Simpson-Clement of Upper Marlboro, Md.; son, Austin Edmond Simpson II of Upper
Marlboro; two sisters, Mildred Green and husband Wallace and Peggy Land and
husband Moses of Virginia Beach; brother, William Arthur Chase and wife Muriel;
two grandchildren, MyLinn Alicia Sloan Clement and Austin Dallas Clement;
son-in-law, Gregory Clement; and a host of other relatives and friends nationally.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Graves Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will receive friends at 1224
Brassie Court, Chesapeake.
