Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. July 25 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. J. Q. A. Lassiter officiating. A native of Norfolk, Mrs. Skinner was the daughter of the late Junius and Mrs. Julia Delk. She was educated in the Norfolk public schools and Norfolk Mission College. She was an active church worker. Formerly a member of St. John's AME Church, Mrs. Skinner transferred her membership to Bethlehem Baptist Church where her husband attends. She served as class leader, Sunday school supervisor, teacher, secretary, stewardess, deaconess, and chorister. She was also a member of the Missionary society. Mrs. Skinner was honored in 1951 by the Palm Leaf Athletic Association as a leading community member. She is survived by her husband, Solomon Skinner, Sr.; a son, Samuel Skinner Jr.; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Farrington, Mrs Alberta Johnson, and Mrs Rebecca Washington of Norfolk VA; a granddaughter, June E. Skinner; a daughter-in-law, Gaynell C. Skinner; four nephews, James, Samuel, and Marcus Delk and Samuel Washington of Jamaica, Long Island, NY. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with Hale's Funeral Home in charge.
