James Henry and Mrs. Joshuanna Germaine Skinner, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 4:35 o’clock. Mr. Skinner was a native of Richmond, and a resident of Norfolk for the past 72 years, residing at 135 West Eleventh Street at the time of his death. From 1915 until 1940, Mr. Skinner was connected with the office of sealer and weights of the City of Norfolk. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and the Wesleymen’s Bible Class of that church, and was a life member of the Norfolk Lodge 38, B.P.O. Elks. Besides his wife, Mrs. Emily Mae Walker Skinner, he is survived by two sons, James H. Skinner, of New York City, and Edward L. Skinner, of Norfolk; a sister Miss Sally K. Skinner, of Norfolk, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o’clock, with the Rev. B.M. Persinger, D.D., pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
