He was the son of the late Mary V. Skinner and the late Walter Skinner. Born in Norfolk, he was a former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth and was a former member of New Light Masonic Lodge No. 196, Norfolk. Mr. Skinner is survived by his wife, Pearl G. Skinner of Portsmouth; two daughters, Mary Fagan of Portsmouth and Thomasine E. (Thurmon S. Sr.) Vaughan of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Andrew Skinner of Norfolk and John S. Owens of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special friends, Hermione and Vernon Taylor of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, James Skinner and a sister, Florence Skinner. A funeral will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth, by the Rev. James Wynn. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk.
