PORTSMOUTH - Townsend Skinner, of the 1200 block of Darren Drive, was called 
home to the dear Father on the morning of April 29, 2003 at Maryview Medical 
Center. He was the son of the late Mary V. Skinner and the late Walter Skinner. 

Born in Norfolk, he was a former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth 
and was a former member of New Light Masonic Lodge No. 196, Norfolk. 

Mr. Skinner is survived by his wife, Pearl G. Skinner of Portsmouth; two 
daughters, Mary Fagan of Portsmouth and Thomasine E. (Thurmon S. Sr.) Vaughan of 
Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Andrew Skinner of Norfolk and John S. Owens of 
Chesapeake; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special friends, 
Hermione and Vernon Taylor of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, 
cousins, in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, James Skinner and 
a sister, Florence Skinner. 

A funeral will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, 
Portsmouth, by the Rev. James Wynn. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , 
Norfolk. Viewing at the funeral home will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today with the 
family there from 4 to 5 p.m.
