Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, October 11, 1991
Carrie Slade of the 1100 block of Rockingham St., a retired domestic worker,
died Oct. 8, 1991, in a hospital.

Mrs. Slade was born in Pitt County, N.C. She had retired after 35 years. She was
the widow of Albert Slade and was of the Holiness faith. She was a member of
Garden Club of Tidewater.

Survivors include three sons, Waverly Daniels of Greensboro, Roosevelt Slade of
Philadelphia and Milton R. Taylor of Norfolk; a sister, Estelle Battle of New
Haven, Conn.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Metropolitan Funeral Home by
the Rev. Anne T. Barnes. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Family and friends
will assemble at 1:30 p.m. at 1112 Rockingham St. for the procession
