He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and was a former Boy Scout. He was a painter 20 years. Survivors include five brothers, Moses Slaughter of Washington, Melvin O. Slaughter, James W. Slaughter, Winston L Slaughter, and Pernell Slaughter of Norfolk. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Mount Olive Baptist Church by the Rev. H. T. Myers. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
