William Alexander Slaymaker, former pastor of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church, died in a local hospital early yesterday morning after an illness of two years. She was a native of Atlanta, Ga. and had spent the greater part of her life in Norfolk. She has been an active worker in Armstrong Church since early girlhood and had been a teacher in Sunday School for more than 40 years. Miss Slaymaker was an honor graduate of Liberty Female College of Glasgow, Ky. She was an artist of ability and reputation, having studied abroad in Munich and Paris. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Charles F. Wicks, and a niece, Miss Ruth F. Wicks. The funeral will be held at the residence, 200 West Berkley Avenue, tomorrow at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. James M. McNair, pastor of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. *********************** Miss Elizabeth Slaymaker - Funeral services for Miss Slaymaker, who died Sunday at the family residence, 200 West Berkley Avenue, were conducted in the residence yesterday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. James M. McNair, pastor of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were Dr. A. D. Morgan, D.E. Keister, E.T. Amis, Joseph P. Baker. L.C. Coston and J.O. Wiggs. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
