SLEDGE - Tuesday, May 20, 1902, at his late residence, No. 406 Fairfax avenue, 
at 7:20 o'clock p.m., OLIVER AMOS SLEDGE, aged 57 years.
Notice of funeral later.

Mr. Oliver A. Sledge departed this life at his home, 406 Fairfax avenue, Ghent, 
at 7:20 o'clock Tuesday night after an illness of ten days, in the 58th year of 
his age.  The deceased was well known and highly esteemed in Norfolk, where he 
had for a number of years resided and for a number of years was engaged in the 
peanut business - for a long period connected with the Columbia Peanut Company.  
He was regarded as one of the best posted men on peanuts in Virginia.  He is 
survived by a widow and four children, two sons and two daughter.  The funeral 
will be solemnized from the Freemason Street Baptist church at 4:30 o'clock this 
afternoon.
