Funeral services will be held at the residence Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. George P. Gunn, rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Meadowbrook, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Born in New York City, Mr. Sloane was the son of William and Margaret Sloane. He came to Norfolk about 40 years ago, and in that period became associated with a large number of business enterprises as an officer or director. He was president of William Sloane & Company, Inc., operators of several knitting mills in the Norfolk and Portsmouth area, among his other business activities. He also built the Wainwright Building, which formerly was leased to the Seaboard Air Line Railway. Surviving Mr. Sloane are his wife, Mrs. Florence K. Sloane, two sons, William Sloane, Jr. and Edwin K. Sloane, and one grandchild.
