Mr. Sloan was born in New York City. He was a member of The Blind Association and Amateur Ham Radio Operator Club. Survivors include his wife, Delores W. Sloan; a daughter, Phyllis Sloan of New York City; a stepson, Luzel Watson of Norfolk; a sister, Helen Dobson of New York City; a brother, Lester Sloan Sr. of Smyrna, Ga.; and a grandchild. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Graves Funeral Home by the Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the family at the residence.
