Edward Joseph Smith, aged 63, son of the late Michiel and Mrs. Jane Hopper 
Smith, a native of Warrenton, Va., and a resident of Norfolk for the past year, 
died at a local hospital yesterday morning at 7:15 o’clock.
He is survived by four sisters, Miss Kate Smith, of Norfolk; Mrs. E. J. Nunan, 
of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. W. E. Moore, of Norfolk; and Mrs. T. B. Nunan, of 
Columbus, Ohio, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith was a member of 
the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Roanoke. The body will be taken from the Ewell 
& Williamson Funeral Home, Thirty-fifth street at Colonial avenue, to the 
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for funeral services this morning at 10 
o’clock. The pastor, the Rev. J. F. Govaert, will officiate. Interment will be 
in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
