Virginian-Pilot May 25, 1946
Mrs. Sarah Countess Smith, widow of Antonio J. Smith, a native of Gloucester and a 
resident of Norfolk for 60 years, died at 2:55 o’clock yesterday morning at the 
residence, 408 West Bute Street. She is survived by one sister, Miss Ellen 
Seawell, of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church, of which she was a member, for services this morning at 10 
o’clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
