TYLER SMITH DIES, RAILROADER, INSURANCE MAN H. Tyler Smith, retired railroad official and insurance man, died yesterday at 9:15 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital. A native of New Orleans, he was a son of the late Dr. Hy Smith and Mrs. Julia Kate Tyler Smith. He had resided in Norfolk nearly 70 years, lately in the Hague Apartments, 602 Fairfax Avenue. During his long career of railroading, he was special agent for the Southern Railway in Raleigh, N.C., for four years, and also worked for the Atlantic and Danville. He later held a post with the Traveller's Insurance Company. He retired about 1930. He was a member of Old St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Surviving are his sister, Miss Florence L. Smith, of Norfolk. The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Old St. Paul's Episcopal Church for funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Dr. Moultrie Guerry, rector.
