Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark May 21, 1929

Austin F. Smith, aged 60, died last night at 9:40 o'clock at his home, 1216 
Magnolia Avenue, Larchmont. He was a native of Brooksville, Pa., but had been a 
resident of Norfolk for 22 years. He was well known, having for a number of 
years been engaged in the building and contracting business. He was a member of 
the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Smith; three sons, 
Cecil C., Wayne E. and Burns P. Smith, all of this city; five brothers, B.D. 
Smith, of Wheeler, Ore. and A.H., M.C., J.M. and J.A. Smith, all of Norfolk; two 
sisters, Mrs. W.H. McCartans and Mrs. J.A. Fleming; his mother, Mrs. M.G. Smith, 
of St. Mary's, Pa. and eight grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night.

Monday, May 20th, 1929, at 9:40 o’clock p.m., AUSTIN F. SMITH, in the sixty-
first year of his age. Funeral services at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 
THURSDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend.
