Smith, son of the late Peter and Mrs. Mary Franco Smith, died suddenly Thursday night at 11 o'clock at the residence, 333 West Freemason Street. Mr. Smith, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, was educated at Georgetown University. He was associated for many years with his father in the firm of Peter Smith. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Surviving him are three sisters, Miss Mary M. Smith, Miss Constance A. Smith and Miss Rosa E. Smith; a brother, E. Vincent Smith, all of Norfolk; a niece, Miss Dorothy M. Smith, of California and a nephew, Comdr X. Martin Smith, USN. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery.
