                   GIRL DROWNS ON PICNIC; TWO OTHERS ESCAPE

         Daisy Smith, 12, Gets In Deep Water During Game At Chesapeake Beach

The little Smith girl was a pupil at the James Madison School. Surviving, 
besides her parents, Cecil C. and Mrs. Betty Wylie Smith, are two sisters, Mary 
Evelyn and Elizabeth Teresa Smith; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. 
Boylan and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. A.F. Smith. Funeral arrangements will 
be announced later.

Miss Daisy Cecelia Smith – The body of Miss Daisy Cecelia Smith, 12-year-old 
daughter of Cecil C. and Betty Wylie Smith, who was accidentally drowned 
Wednesday afternoon, will be taken from the residence, No. 843 West Forty-eighth 
street, Norfolk, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for funeral services 
Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
