A native of Brookville, Pa., he had been a resident of Norfolk for 40 years. He was the son of the late Norton P. and Mrs. Kitty Arnold Smith. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters. Mrs. A.D. Overmyer, Mrs. Bertha S. Mosley and Mrs. deWitt Cudd, all of Norfolk; three brothers, John N. Smith, of St. Mary's Pa.; Barney V. Smith, of Portland, Ore. and Mark A. Smith, of East Brady, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Will McCrathan, of Yatesboro, Pa.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The body will be taken from the funeral chapel of James V. Derry to the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, where funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Father James V. Brennan. Friends of the family invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
