Vincent Smith Dies at Age 81 E. Vincent Smith, 81, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 9 p.m. after a long illness. He was a native of Norfolk and the son of Peter Smith, who ran a large Norfolk department store at the turn of the century. The family lived at Freemason and Dunmore Streets for many years and was prominent in the growth of the city. Mr. Smith was an accomplished pianist and was a charter member of Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He is survived by one sister, Miss Constant Smith of Norfolk and one nephew, Capt. X. Martin Smith, USNR, of Los Angeles. The body was taken to the Oliver Funeral Apartments. ************************************************************************** SMITH, E. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, to Christ the King Catholic Church for services THIS (Friday) MORNING, at 10 o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
