She was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Church and for many years was actively interested in the religious and charitable organizations of the parish. For 20 years she was the president of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin. The survivors include two sisters, Miss Constance A. and Miss Rosa E. Smith, and one brother, E. Vincent Smith, all of Norfolk; a niece Dorothy M. Smith and a nephew, Capt. Xavier Martin Smith, USNR, both of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. ***************************************************************************** Miss Mary Magdalene Smith – Funeral services for Miss Smith, daughter of the late Peter and Mrs. Maria Franco Smith, who died Saturday at her residence, 333 West Freemason Street, were held yesterday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul V. Heller officiating. Present in the sanctuary were the Rev. P. Blackburn, the Rev. Edward W. Johnston, the Rev. Francis Klemmer, the Rev. P. P. Brennan and the Rev. A. Canas. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas H. Willcox, C. Wiley Grandy, M. W. Talbot, Albert M. Edwards, Dr. P. St. L. Moncure, John Joseph Baecher and Frank Nash.
