Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 19, 1954

Mrs. Elinor Grannis Smith, 66, widow of Israel W. Smith and daughter of David 
Nelson and Mrs. Mary M. Grannis, a native of New York and a resident of Norfolk 
for 30 years, died Friday at 10:37 p.m. at the residence, 218 West 18th Street.
Mrs. Smith was past commander of Norfolk Navy Mother's Club 314 and was a member 
of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by one son, Donald Victor Smith, of Portland, Ore.; two 
daughters, Mrs. Alvin W. Hutton, of Springfield, Ill. and Miss Anita Elinor 
Smith, of Norfolk; five grandchildren and one brother, Edward F. Grannis, of 
Philadelphia, Pa.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver  Funeral Apartments tomorrow at 11 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Smith, and daughter of the late David Nelson and Mary M. Grannis, in the 67th 
year of her age. Services at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
Avenue, MONDAY MORNING, December 20, 1954, at 11 o’clock. Friends of the family 
are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
