The Rev. J. R. Johnson, pastor of St. John's AME Church officiated. Mrs. Mary Robinson sang "He'll Understand". Honorary pall-bearers were Messrs. Hunter, Towns, Booker, Bush and Dozier. Active pallbearers were Messrs Williams, Tolliver, Faulkner, Charles Woodhurst Outlaw, and Milton Lassiter. Mr. Smith was a member of the Tux Social Club, and Bachelor Benedict Club. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elsie Smith; a son, Alvin Jr.; and uncle and many other relatives and friends. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeral Home in charge.
