A funeral service was scheduled to be held on Thursday at First Baptist 
Church in Berkley for William Smith, 40, of 1319 Wilson road. The Rev. Noel 
C. Taylor was to officiate.

Burial was to follow at Calvary Cemetery under direction of Chatman Funeral 
Home.

A native of Norfolk, Mr. Smith died on Sunday. He was a member of Berkley 
lodge of Elks.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Brown Smith; his mother, Mrs. Emily 
B. Smith; and a foster brother, George L. Hilliard.
