Norfolk - Henry Smith of 404 Craig St. died Tuesday in his home after a long 
illness.

A native of Mecklenburg County, he was a son of Pastor and Mrs. Ella Smith 
and the husband of Mrs. Emma Smith.

He as retired from E. H. Barnes Box Co. after 50 years of service and was a 
member of New Central Baptist Church.

Besides his widow, surviving are a son, William Smith; and a daughter, Mrs. 
Rosa L. Gordorf, both of Norfolk.

The body was taken to Pretlow’s Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 
conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. in New Central Baptist Church by the Rev. W. B. 
Westbrook. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
