Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Wednesday December 12, 1934
Miss Hanna Elizabeth Smith, daughter of the late Capt. John Edward Smith and 
Mrs. Annie Sloane Smith died at her residence, 108 East Eleventh street, last 
night at 9:30 o'clock after a long illness.  She was a native of Warwick 
County and had been a resident of Norfolk practically all of her life.  
Surviving her area a sister, Mrs. Clara Harris; a niece, Mrs. A.A. Nelson, and 
a nephew, W.J. Harris and several great nieces and nephews.  Miss Smith held 
membership in St. John's Church, Hampton.  Funeral services will be conducted 
Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence.  The Rev. E.P. Miner will 
officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
