Norfolk Journal and Guide, Jul 7,1962
Miss Sallie Smith, 52, of 916 Memphis street, who died at a local hospital June 
29, was given final rites Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church.

The Rev. J. W. Garlington officiated at the service.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery under the direction of Morning Glory Funeral Home.

Miss Smith was the daughter of the late Alex Smith and Mrs. Annie Smith.  She 
was a member of the Church of True Holiness.

Survivors include a brother, Jay Gould Smith of Norfolk;  and a sister, Mrs. 
Rosa Butts, also of Norfolk.
