Norfolk - Mrs. Lucy P. Smith of 1012 E avenue who died July 2 in a local 
hospital, was given final rites Sunday at Oakwood Chapel.  She is survived by 44 
descendants.

The Rev. David L. Davenport officiated at the service.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery with Graves Funeral Home in charge.

A native of Norfolk, Mrs. Smith was a member of Oakwood Chapel and Zion 
Missionary Beneficial Society.

Her survivors include six sons, Herbert, Roland, William and Robert Smith of 
Norfolk, M/Sgt Albert Smith of the Army and Fred Smith of Washington;  three 
daughters , Miss Mary Smith, Mrs. Mable Scott and Mrs. Fannie Spratley of 
Norfolk;  a brother, Fred Dixon, also of Norfolk;  27 grandchildren, five great 
grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
