Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - February 4, 1997
Annie Belle Smith, 89, died Feb.3, 1997, in Chesapeake Health Care Center. 
A native of Dillon, S.C., she was the widow of William T. Smith Sr.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Starr and her husband, Jack G., of 
Chesapeake; son, J.W. Smith and his wife, Jimmie, of Brimingham, Ala., daughter-
in-law, Mildred Smith of Chesapeake; sister, Clara Benfield of Kentucky; seven 
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, 
William Smith. 
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn 
Cemetery by the Rev. G.C. Shepard. Family will receive friends in Smith and 
Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
