Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark August 3, 1912
           
Mrs. Buena Vista Smith, aged 43 years, a native of Columbia, N.C., wife of A.C. 
Smith, died yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the family residence, Ohio 
Avenue and Newton tract, after an illness of several weeks.
The deceased was well known and respected in this section, where she has lived 
for the past fifteen years.
In addition to a husband she is survived by four children, Miss Alice Smith, 
Mrs. Clara Ackiss and Leslie and Norman Smith, all of this section.
The deceased was a daughter of the late John and Mrs. Elizabeth Mann Pinner of 
North Carolina and was a member of the Liberty Street M.E. Church, South 
Norfolk.
The funeral will be conducted from the residence Sunday afternoon at 2:30 
o'clock.  Rev. R.B. Scott, pastor of her church, will officiate and the 
interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
