Smith, a trained nurse, and well known and respected lady of the ward, died at the residence of Mrs. G. L. Thompson, 303 Chestnut street, Wednesday evening at 11 o'clock after an illness of pneumonia. The deceased was a native of Berkley ward and was 56 years old. She was a widow of the late George Smith and a member of Memorial M.E. Church. The funeral will be conducted from memorial M.E. Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock and Rev. C.L. Bane will conduct the service. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. **************************** The funeral of the late Mrs. Eliza F. Smith who died at the home of Mrs. G.L. Thompson, 303 Chestnut street, Wednesday evening, took place at Memorial M.E. Church yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. C.L. Bane, pastor of the church of which she was a member, conducted the services and the interment was in Magnolia Cemetery. The pallbearers were: M.C. Keeling, Eugene McCloud, D.V. Allen, Edward Rudd, B.B. Bott, and W.W. Robertson. Mrs. Smith was a trained nurse and was attending the little daughter of Mrs. Thompson in a case of typhoid fever when she was stricken with pneumonia from which she never recovered.
