Patteson, 20 Poplar Avenue, at 3:50 o'clock Wednesday afternoon after an illness of three months. She was born in Norfolk County, and had lived in Berkley thirty-three years. She was a daughter of the late Young N. Old and Mrs. Ann Wiggins Old. She was the widow of Samuel J. Smith. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. G.T. Jennings, Oscar L. Smith, Frank M. Smith, V.L. Smith, W.A. Smith, Mrs. E.A. Patteson, of this city and Samuel J. Smith, of Portsmouth. The funeral services will be conducted at the residence this afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. S.J. Battin, pastor of the Memorial Methodist Church, of which she was a member, assisted by Rev. T.H. Dimmock, pastor of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Mrs. Smith had a host of friends among whom she was popular and much loved.
