The Virginian Pilot (Norfolk, Va) Thursday January 3, 1952
V.H. SMITH, 68, DIES; FORMER FUNERAL DIRECTOR
Virginius H. Smith, 68, of 721 West 38th Street, retired Norfolk funeral 
director, died yesterday at 5 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital.
He operated an undertaking establishment at Manteo Street and Olney Road until 
the early 1930's.
A native of Norfolk, he was the adopted son of the late Henry C. and Mrs. 
Ellenora Ward Smith.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Helen Smith Kline and Mrs. Annie Smith 
Franklin, both of Norfolk, and Mrs. Mary Ogletree, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 3 p.m. at the Hollomon-Brown 
Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
