Virginian Pilot May 26, 1968 

Roland Smith, of 219 Virginia Beach Blvd., died Tuesday in New York.
A native of Norfolk, he was a son of Alex and Mrs. Bertha Smith and the husband 
of Mrs. Harriett Smith.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert Smith, a daughter, Mrs. 
Henrietta Eure and a brother, Harvey Smith, all of Brooklyn; four sisters, Mrs. 
Endie Price of Brooklyn and Mrs. Virginia Smith, Mrs. Susie Hallison and Mrs. 
Mary Miles of Plainfield, N.J. and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held today at 1:30 p.m. in Hale Funeral Chapel by the 
Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
